Recognized for his sensitive and contemplative approach, Corciolli brings together in this album some of the core elements that have defined his aesthetic over the years: intuitive improvisation, minimalist themes, and technical sophistication in post-production, with recordings made in high definition (192 kHz/32-bit float).
Conceived with an analog and digital setup, the composer combines acoustic and electric piano with the use of classic synthesizers such as the Roland Juno 106, Sequential Prophet 6, and Prophet 12, as well as various samplers and sequencers. The musical pieces emerged from spontaneous compositions captured at the time of creation, and only after a period of distance were they listened to by the musician and finalized with refinement and precision. It was through the validation of takes, editing, adjustments, and finalization of arrangements that the album took its final form, giving meaning to the songs and the narrative that inspired it.
ABSTRACTA offers the listener an immersive sound experience, whose layers, textures, and emotional nuances resonate like a fluid and impermanent musical tapestry. Like a non-figurative painting, where details are revealed, it is the brushstrokes, colors, and suggestions that spark interest and create connections. Corciolli’s music contains futuristic sounds at its core, but is always current and present, revealing that, even with occasional imperfections, its nature is transformative and timeless.
With over 500 million streams, 3 million albums sold, and 12 diamond, platinum, and gold certifications, Corciolli has released 38 albums through Azul Music, the record company he founded in 1993. Participating in dozens of international compilations alongside artists such as Hans Zimmer, Vangelis, The Alan Parsons Project, Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, and Diana Krall, his music crosses over into many musical genres, masterfully blending acoustic and electronic sounds.
