Azul Classics: Violin

An anthology dedicated to the violin repertoire, featuring works performed by artists from the Azul Music catalogue.

Curated by composer and producer Corciolli, founder of the label, the selection offers an excellent introduction to the plurality of languages, styles and approaches found across the label’s catalogue. AZUL CLASSICS: VIOLIN is the third volume in a series of albums dedicated to a single instrument or formation, tracing a sensitive and contemporary panorama of chamber music in Brazil and beyond.

Among the highlights, Toward the Elusive, by Pedro Eleftheriou, performed by Emmanuele Baldini and Mariana Virgilli; the Sonata for Piano and Violin No. 25 in F Major, K. 377, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with Claudio Cruz and Olga Kopylova; and Valsas de Esquina, Waltz No. 3, by Francisco Mignone, in the transcription for violin and piano by Yuriy Rakevich and Olga Kopylova.
