Gabriel Marin

Violist Gabriel Marin has a career marked by renowned orchestras and meritorious awards. Marin began his journey standing out as first solo viola in the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB), expanding his performance to the São Paulo Municipal Symphony Orchestra (OSM) and as a member of the University of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSUSP).

His skill earned him the Eleazar de Carvalho Award at the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival in 2004, among other recognitions. Internationally, he performed in the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, collaborating with renowned conductors and soloists such as Gustavo Dudamel and Yo-Yo Ma, and was part of the Odense Symphony Orchestra in Denmark, performing on important European stages.

Tutored by the masters Renato Bandel and Rafaell Altino in Denmark and by notables such as Nobuko Imai and Roberto Diaz in Switzerland, Gabriel Marin founded the Quarteto Raga in Rio de Janeiro, performing in Brazil and abroad, including Germany and Tunisia. He is also recognized as an influential teacher and artist at prestigious festivals, such as those in Campos do Jordão and Teresina.

As a soloist, Gabriel Marin performed with orchestras throughout Brazil, and participated in recordings like the CD “Novos Universos Sonoros”. He stood out in France with the Orchestre D’Auvergne. Currently, he contributes to musical education at the Baccarelli Institute and the Encontro Campestre de Violas, and is part of the Quarteto Carlos Gomes, awarded the BRAVO Award for best classical recording in 2018.
