Nicholas Abdo is a Brazilian contemporary composer, pianist and guitarist. With five albums released, his work focuses on creating pieces for piano, seven string guitar and different chamber ensembles, exploring new structural and expressive possibilities within contemporary concert music.

He began his piano studies with Zélia Deri and started studying composition with composer Osvaldo Lacerda. He later graduated in classical guitar from FIAM FAAM, under the guidance of Henrique Pinto. After completing his degree, he pursued postgraduate studies in composition at the Carlos Gomes Institute, with Celso Mojola. Following his graduation, he also studied guitar with guitarist Paulo Martelli.

Although he has a particular affinity with the piano and the seven string guitar, his compositional output encompasses a wide range of ensembles, including works for small groups and larger chamber formations. In each piece, Abdo seeks to develop a distinct identity, avoiding predictable solutions and pursuing new approaches to musical construction.

His compositional language is rooted in the tradition of concert music, but frequently moves away from conventional models, exploring new relationships between melody, texture and form. His writing investigates multiple layers of sound and internal tensions, creating musical landscapes that often resist conventional classifications.

As a composer, Nicholas Abdo seeks to build a catalogue of works that explores new perspectives within contemporary music, while remaining committed to originality and the pursuit of his own expressive paths.
