Opus 5 for Bassoon, Oboe and Clarinet

In newly written works for wind trio, the composers’ collective explores new sonic possibilities in their fifth album.

OPUS 5 marks the debut of three new composers in the nucleus: Julia Caccia, Eymi Kinjo and Lívia Trujilo, who join Shaya Lambert, Angie Lopez, Giovanna Conde, Andréia Zanella and Natália Roschel, under the artistic direction of composer and music educator João Marcondes. The choice of instrumentation imposed singular creative challenges, resulting in more experimental languages in which each piece reveals a distinct face of the writing for this trio of instruments.

Sérgio Burgani and Romeu Rabello, clarinettist and bassoonist of the OSESP, join Alexandre Ficarelli, professor of oboe and chamber music at ECA-USP and coordinator of the Chamber Music Laboratory (LAMUC), delivering performances of the highest level, doing full justice to the demanding and inventive writing of the young composers.
