Prelude to Nightfall

Navigating between the melancholic density of nocturnal preludes and the rhythmic vitality of Brazilian miniatures, the composer presents previously unpublished works for solo piano.

Under the vivid and sensitive interpretation of Ariã Yamanaka, a pianist from the OSESP Academy, the album unfolds along sonic paths that balance contemplation and virtuosity. Yamanaka, who began her studies in Japan and later consolidated her artistic presence under the direction of Claudio Cruz with the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra, explores with singular nuance the transition between introspective shadow and the rhythmic vitality that shapes Brazil’s cultural identity.

The expressive writing of composer João Marcondes establishes him as one of the leading voices in contemporary Brazilian chamber music. By merging formal rigor with a poetic narrative in Prelude to Nightfall, the album delivers a refined sonic landscape that both renews contemporary classical production and points toward new artistic horizons.
