Composed between 1938 and 1943, the pieces capture the urban atmosphere of the serenatas, choros, and street waltzes that filled the corners of São Paulo in the early twentieth century. Valsa de Esquina No. 2 — the only piece originally transcribed by Mignone himself for violin and piano — served as the starting point for the complete cycle. The arrangements preserve the melodic and harmonic character of the originals, with key adjustments and a reworking of the improvisational passages to achieve a natural balance between the two instruments.

Russian-born Rakevich and Kopylova, a native of Uzbekistan, performed together at OSESP, where the violinist has held the position of assistant concertmaster since 1998. With this third album, the duo marks a remarkable milestone in a partnership that has accumulated over 15 million streams.
