Zwischen Liebe und Leben

Born from the artistic and personal partnership of soprano and pianist, the album brings together works by Schumann and Brahms — repertoire deeply rooted in the tradition of the German Lied and Romantic art song.

The program opens with the complete cycle Frauenliebe und Leben, Op. 42, by Schumann: eight songs that trace the journey of love, loss and the passage of time. The Arabeske, Op. 18, by the same composer, offers a moment of contemplation between the two worlds. The album is completed, in a more introspective vein, by works of Brahms: Liebestreu, Immer leiser wird mein Schlummer, Serenade, O wüßt ich doch den Weg zurück, Die Mainacht and Von ewiger Liebe.

A graduate in Lyric Singing and Lyric Art from the University of São Paulo (USP) and holder of a Master’s degree in Opera from the Hochschule für Musik Stuttgart in Germany, Joyce Tripiciano has performed at theaters including the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Staatstheater Wuppertal — both in Germany, where she was a member of the resident ensemble — and has been a member of the Lyric Choir of the São Paulo Municipal Theatre since 2019. Leandro Roverso trained in Brazil and completed advanced studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. Pianist of the Lyric Choir of the São Paulo Municipal Theatre, he also collaborates in productions at the Theatro São Pedro and the Minas Gerais Philharmonic.
