The Quarteto Carlos Gomes has an incredible repertoire explained by the collective and individual trajectories of its members. The quartet is composed of Claudio Cruz (Concertmaster of the S\u00e3o Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, conductor of the S\u00e3o Paulo Youth Symphony Orchestra, and winner of the Grammy Awards), Adonhiran Reis (Concertmaster of the UFRJ Symphony Orchestra, professor at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, and former Concertmaster of the Ribeir\u00e3o Preto Symphony Orchestra), Gabriel Marin (violist of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo Symphony Orchestra and former principal viola of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra), and Alceu Reis (Grammy Award winner, who as the first cellist led the orchestras of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, the S\u00e3o Paulo State Symphony Orchestra, and the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra).<\/p>\n

The quartet’s main objectives are to promote Brazilian and Latin American music, as well as to disseminate a vast repertoire of chamber works that are seldom explored, most of which have no published editions or previous recordings. They carry out constant research work in libraries and museums. As a result, the ensemble has been surprising the music scene, winning praiseworthy reviews from their peers.<\/p>\n

Their concert performances take place in various cities across the country, often featuring collaborations with renowned artists, such as the cellist Antonio Meneses. Moreover, they were honored with the Bravo Award in 2018, in the category of Best Classical Music CD.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><\/p>\n
