Luiz Zago

Luiz Zago is an artist with a restless and curious spirit. Life brought him the piano as an instrument to express this, always with great energy and dedication in his performances. From an early age, he was influenced by his grandfather to explore Brazilian culture through literature, becoming a fan of Drummond and Fernando Sabino, while also enjoying LPs together on the living room record player, featuring Chico Buarque, Caymmi, Benny Goodman, and some popular classics that began to shape his musical imagination.

The first musician in his family, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in classical piano, delving into tradition and discovering a new world filled with sound exploration and the refinement of concert music. From there, he began to develop his first performances with various artists, eventually releasing his first solo work in 2010.

In addition to his solo career, his résumé includes collaborations with Brazilian artists such as Lenine, Ivan Lins, Toquinho, Zeca Baleiro, among others, as well as key orchestras in the Brazilian music scene, including the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Florianópolis, Petrobras Symphony Orchestra, and Nova Orquestra (with which he performed at Rock in Rio 2019). This has allowed him to create the perfect union between the delicacy and drama of classical music and the rhythmic explosion of popular music, shaping a unique universe within the projects he undertakes.
