With a career marked by movement in musical language, the pianist brings together original, unreleased compositions, inspired by his travels in foreign lands.

A graduate in classical composition from ECA-USP and active since 1975 as a studio musician, arranger, and composer – with a vast production encompassing soundtracks, jingles, and themes for television and radio – Barretti presents in NØMAD a selection of works that translate experiences lived in different countries and cultures, transforming landscapes, atmospheres, and moments of contemplation into inspired compositions for solo piano.

Among the highlights of the repertoire are “Twilight,” which portrays the sunsets of the Algarve, a region in southern Portugal; “Seven Steps to Heaven,” born from the contemplation of a landscape in Lagos and structured in seven-beat measures; and “La Cathédrale sur la Seine”, which pays homage to French composers of the first half of the 20th century, using Notre-Dame Cathedral as a starting point. The collection of musical works presented on the album precisely defines a trajectory that reflects the musician’s nomadic spirit: his inspirations, aspirations, and above all, his creative vitality.
