Rodrigo Vitta

Born in São Paulo, Vitta holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Semiotics from PUC/SP and a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from FMU/FIAMFAAM. He is currently a professor at FMU/FIAMFAAM University, a postgraduate professor at IBFE, and the founder of the online School of Art and Music, STUDIO VITTA. Vitta is also the conductor of the Eleazar de Carvalho Festival, the Metropolitan Orchestra (BRA), the FMU Orchestra, and the pianist of the Quarteto Novas Tendências.

He has received composition awards such as the TINTA FRESCA Competition in 2013 by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais, the National Composition Competition Claudio Santoro in 2005 by the Brazilian Academy of Music/RJ, the National Composition Competition for Symphony Band of the State of São Paulo in 2001, and the National Composition Competition in 2000 by the Recife Symphony Orchestra. All of these awards were for his symphonies for orchestra, which were recorded and recognized.

His music has been recorded by the Recife Symphony Orchestra, Quarteto de Violões
Quaternaglia, Quarteto Toccata, Grupo AUM, Quarteto Novas Tendências, and currently, his piano preludes “Brazilian Fruits” by pianist Olga Kopylova.

As a conductor, he was the director of the Cubatão Symphony Band and assistant conductor of the Santos Symphony Orchestra. He has undertaken important works such as the Série Movimento Violão Sinfônico, recorded by TV SESC/SP, the musical Do Hip Hop ao Erudito da Samba at SESC Pompéia, the III Festival Lírico in Montevideo at the Solís Theater with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra, dance performances with Ballet Sopro Ágape, Quarteto para os fins dos tempos e Natureza, all promoted by SESC-SP, and concerts for the Eleazar de Carvalho Festival in Fortaleza/SP and Eleazar de Carvalho Week organized by the OSESP Foundation, held at the Sala São Paulo.
