Opus 1 for String Quartet

The debut album from this collective of young composers brings together ten original, previously unreleased works, performed by the Topázio Quartet, formed by members of the OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra).

Under the artistic direction of composer João Marcondes, MICROCOSMOS – OPUS 1 FOR STRING QUARTET offers a fundamental listening space for contemporary Brazilian chamber music. Bringing emerging talents to light, the group explores creative opportunities, unafraid to point towards new horizons.

Among the highlights, “Brisa de Outono” by Caio Kenzo, a piece that flirts with Ravel and Brahms, constructs a melodic scenario from the transition of seasons, between light and shadow, memory and new beginnings; the intriguing “Jardim das Máscaras” by Eymi Kinjo explores the different layers of the human being, revealing through subtle writing for strings, the delicate inner face that contrasts with what we project to the world.
