An anthology dedicated to string repertoire, featuring works written for duos, trios, quartets, and chamber orchestras, in exquisite interpretations by artists from Azul Music.
The selection, curated by musician and composer Corciolli, founder of the label, provides an excellent introduction to the plurality of languages, styles, and approaches present in the label’s catalog. MUSIC FROM AZUL: STRINGS is the first volume in a series of albums dedicated to an instrument or ensemble, seeking to trace a sensitive and contemporary panorama of chamber music in Brazil and the world.
Highlights include “Suite for String Orchestra: III. Aria” by Radamés Gnattali, performed by the São Paulo Chambers Soloists, from the album RADAMÉS, nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2025; and “Elegy No. 4”, an unreleased piece by Brazilian composer João Marcondes, performed by the Topázio Quartet, formed by musicians from the OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra).
