Previously unpublished piano works by composer Edmundo Villani-Côrtes, performed by the Brazilian pianist and distinguished researcher.
The result of a long-standing artistic relationship with her mentor, Edmundo Villani-Côrtes, Danieli Longo presents a selection of works spanning five decades of the composer’s piano output, tracing an aesthetic journey that balances lyricism, structural rigor, and expressive freedom. Among the highlights are the inventive Cinco Ponteios (1963–1987), dedicated to Camargo Guarnieri, and the sonata A Lenda dos Alatás, notable for its cinematic narrative character.
With a solid academic background, Longo graduated from the École Normale de Musique de Paris and the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, and holds both Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of São Paulo. Since 2014, she has been a professor at the Institute of Arts of UNESP, developing a career as a performer, educator, and researcher, with a focus on early 20th-century French music.
