Accordion Baroque

Born in São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, Eliomar Landim began his accordion studies at the age of seven. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to adapting classical music pieces for the instrument.

In ACCORDION BAROQUE, the musician presents virtuosic transcriptions and interpretations of works by J. S. Bach and D. Scarlatti, demonstrating the accordion’s versatility and importance in chamber music. Employing various tonal registers, Landim enriches the repertoire dedicated to the accordion, making previously unrecorded arrangements in this format, always expressively and meticulously.

This album highlights his arrangements and performances of Bach’s Air on the G StringCello Suite No. 1, and Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 – the latter featuring a special appearance by violinist Emmanuele Baldini, concertmaster of OSESP. From Scarlatti, the Keyboard Sonatas in A Major, K. 322 and E Major, K. 380 are given a youthful interpretation by Landim, with contemporary twists but without losing the essence of Baroque music.
