“Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) showed his emotional personality in every note he composed, without failing, however, to organize his musical legacy with a keen sense of form. The rationality, cohesion and balance of classical discourse are intensely present in all of his productions, without diminishing the expressive spontaneity that characterizes it”. With these words, composer and music critic Ronaldo Miranda introduced the presentation of the first volume of Mozart’s piano sonatas, performed by Clara Sverner.
The first piano sonatas written by the Austrian composer were made in 1775, when he was nineteen and working as a concertmaster for the Archbishop of Salzburg. Imbued with youthful freshness, the pieces already sound like mature and perfectly finished works. The first four sonatas on this first volume (K. 279 in C major; K. 280 in F major; K. 281 in B Flat Major and K. 282 in E Flat Major) are masterpieces of the pianistic literature of the 18th century, precious examples of rigor and freedom in the exercise of musical creation.
Restless and unique, Clara has built over an expressive and successful career a legacy of memorable recordings that reflect her permanent boldness. When performing the eighteen sonatas for piano by Mozart, the pianist covers her interpretations with vivid colors and aesthetic precision, without ever losing sight of balance, offering a majestic reading of the Mozartian universe.
