Music from Azul: Piano

A compilation dedicated to piano repertoire, in works performed by artists from the Azul Music catalog.

Curated by pianist and composer Corciolli, founder of the record company, the selection provides an excellent introduction to the plurality of languages, styles, and approaches present in the label’s catalog. MUSIC FROM AZUL: PIANO is the second volume in a series of albums dedicated to an instrument or ensemble, seeking to trace a sensitive and contemporary panorama of chamber music in Brazil and the world.

Highlights include “Jeux D’Eau” by Maurice Ravel, performed by Clara Sverner; “Eu Lírico,” a crossover composition by the young Italian pianist Filippo Landi; and “Notturno Napolitano” by Fanny Mendelssohn, performed by Karin Fernandes.
