Piano Minimalism

Currently, the need to create “pauses” that can help us to recalibrate seems evident. Listening to music has become an omnipresent act in our lives, sometimes acquiring new meanings, from a simple passive act to an active and deep listening. This experience of listening “in depth” brings a kind of “suspension of time”: While listening to music, we connect with another universe, one that “spin slowly”, providing rare moments in which we can better understand our limits and perspectives.

With a selection of 24 themes performed on the piano or with subtle accompaniments of other instruments, PIANO MINIMALISM presents emblematic works of the piano repertoire, such as Gymnopèdie No.1, written by Erik Satie in 1888 and Prelude No.4 in E Minor, Op. 28 by Frédéric Chopin, performed by pianist Clara Sverner. The repertoire is completed by contemporary pieces by young artists, such as Isaiah Rizzo with his simple Oblivion and Svanire, Raphael Veronese with the touching Spring and Eyes of the Soul, as well as works by Corciolli, Daniel Grajew, Andrey Cechelero and Flávio Franco Araújo.

The finesse of the themes, their purety and apparent simplicity sometimes do not fit into the most common definitions of minimalism: use of few notes, hypnotic repetitions and harmonic suspensions. More than that, the selected musical works open different doors to listeners, allowing deeper and more meaningful perceptions.
